Block description

1)Serialinterface

W hen the serialinterface receives the serialdata,itidentifies the index data and transm its the controldata to each

function block.

2) FIFO

The m usicalscore data are stored tem porarily in FIFO w hich can contain up to 32 m usicalscore data.The m usical

score data are processed are processed in the sequencerw hen they are generated assoundsand those thathave been

processed are deleted one afteranother.W hen the rem aining data am ountin FIFO reaches the registersetting (IRQ

point)orless,itoutputsan interruptsignalto ask forthecontinuing m usicalscoredatato befed.

3) Sequencer

W hen the sequencerreceivesthe STA RT com m and,itstartsto read the m usicalscore data w hich have been stored in

FIFO .Theprocessed m usicalscoredataaredeleted.

4)Tim breregister

The tim bre data are stored in thisregisterw hich can contain up to 8 tim bres.Settingsforthisregisterm ustbe m ade

before sound generation.Itisinitialized w hen the hardw are orthe softw are isresetbutthe valuesare retained w hile

in thepow er-dow n m odeand also afteritiscancelled.

5)FM synthesizer

Thetim bresaresynthesized and generated according to settings.Foursoundscan begenerated atthesam etim e.

6)D /A ,volum eand am plifier

The outputs from the synthesizer are D /A converted and volum e processed.A fter that,they are output from the

speakerortheearphoneoutterm inal.
