GAS Plasma Voltage Dependent Switches Switching GAS Discharge Tubes
The LT Series is a 2-terminal bi-directional, voltage triggered switch is designed for ignition circuits used in high pressure HID lighting. Switching voltages for the devices are fixed depending on the part number selected. The GAS plasma trigger technology offers very fast switching speeds, resulting in significantly better di/dt values when compared to silicon based SIDAC devices. Due to the high switching voltage of the devices, step-up transformer sizes and specifications can be reduced saving cost, size and weight.
Features
• RoHS compliant
• Ceramic chamber for ultimate reliability.
• Very high switching speed once switching voltage has been reached, resulting in high di/dt to be generated enabling the best performance to be extracted from ignition transformers.
• Tape and reel to EIA 481-1
Applications
• For switching stored electrical energy (such as capacitive discharge) at predetermined voltages.
• Designed for ignition circuits used in high pressure HID lighting.
Type SF Lighting Capacitors, 90 °C Rated, Oil FILLED
AC Rated, Oil FILLED/Impregnated, Metallized Polypropylene Capacitors
For better performance in HID Lighting and HV Ballasts, Type SF oval and round oil FILLED metallized polypropylene lighting capacitors are built for operating in the high temperature environments for high intensity discharge (HID) lighting and other high voltage ballast applications. Each HID catalog capacitor includes an external resistor that discharges the capacitor to less than 50V in one minute, and the oil FILLED process assures better reliability than dry capacitors.
Highlights
• Protected: UL recognized under E71645
• Meets EIA Standard EIA-456-A
• Casing: tin-plated steel standard, aluminum optional
• Paint: (U.L. recognized) optional

ABRIDGED DATA
Hydrogen-FILLED tetrode thyratron with ceramic envelope, featuring extremely low jitter, low anode delay time drift and high rate of rise of current. A hydrogen reservoir operating from a separate, variable heater supply is incorporated.
CX1599 is a fast, precise switch originally designed for use in pulse generators to drive Kerr cells, Pockel cells or spark chambers. Anode voltage must be command charged and applied for less than 10 ms. The tube geometry allows it to be mounted in a coaxial housing in order to minimise the total circuit inductance.
